Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887 (XVII of 1887), Section 34 – Constitution of India, Article 226, 227 – Correction in the record of rights – Writ petition – Petitioner has already filed an representation before Deputy Commissioner and the same is pending consideration since 22.04.2022 and no progress is being made in the same – Writ petition disposed of with a direction to Deputy Commissioner to look into the representation and decide the same within a period of one month in accordance with law.

1. Prayer in this petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of direction to the respondents to rectify the mistake in the record of rights in terms of mutation bearing No.816, dated 23.10.1974 (Annexure P-1).
2. It has been contended by learned counsel for the petitioner that for the correction of the revenue record, the petitioner has already filed an representation before respondent No.3-Deputy Commissioner, District Gurdaspur and the same is pending consideration since 22.04.2022 and no progress is being made in the same.
3. Notice of motion.
4. On asking of the Court, Ms. Akshita Chauhan, DAG, Punjab appears and accepts notice on behalf of the respondents-State.
5. After hearing learned counsel for the parties, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Deputy Commissioner, District Gurdaspur to look into the representation dated 22.04.2022 (Annexure P-3) and decide the same within a period of one month from today in accordance with law.
Order accordingly.
