1. Through this petition, the petitioner seeks issuance of a direction to respondent No.3- Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Hoshiarpur to expeditiously dispose of the petition filed by him on 27.11.2017 under Section 11 of Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961 (for short, 1961 Act).
2. After hearing learned counsel for the parties and perusing the record, we find that the petition filed by the petitioner under Section 11 of the 1961 Act has been pending before respondent No.3 for the last about eight years and that the decision thereupon has been unnecessarily delayed.
3. In light of the above and because a direction for early disposal of a lis pending between the parties prejudices none, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to dispose of the petitioner’s aforesaid application within four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, in accordance with law.
4. Pending application (s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
Order accordingly.
