Family Courts Act, 1984 (66 of 1984), Section 19(4) – Meager interim maintenance – Expedite disposal of main maintenance petition – Prayer for -- Petitioners submit that income of respondent-husband is admittedly Rs.30,000/- per month whereas the Family Court has granted meagre amount of maintenance of Rs.6,000/- to the petitioners i.e. wife and son -- Considering that amount of maintenance awarded i.e. Rs.6,000/- per month, the Family Court requested to expedite the disposal of determination of final maintenance.

JAGMOHAN BANSAL, J. (ORAL) –
1. The petitioners through instant petition are seeking quashing of order dated 09.01.2023 whereby Additional Principal Judge, Family Court, Ludhiana, has granted interim maintenance of Rs.4,000/- per month to petitioner No.1 and Rs.2,000/- per month to petitioner No.2.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioners, at the outset, submits that income of respondent-husband is admittedly Rs.30,000/- per month whereas the Family Court has granted meagre amount of maintenance if Rs.6,000/- to the petitioners i.e. wife and son. He further submits that till date, respondent has not paid even aforesaid amount of Rs.6,000/- per month. He further submits that the Family Court may be directed to expeditiously decide final maintenance.
3. Without commenting on merits of the case, however, considering that amount of maintenance awarded i.e. Rs.6,000/- per month, the Family Court is requested to expedite the disposal of determination of final maintenance.
4. Disposed of.
Order accordingly.
