Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 (39 of 1987), Section 22C -- Permanent Lok Adalat – Mutual settlement proposal – Requirements of -- PLA(PUS) adjudicated the dispute on merits before proposing a settlement between the parties -- This is in clear breach of the procedure laid down under the Act – Determination of disputes under section 22C(8) has to be done by PLA (PUS), in case, the parties fails to arrive at mutual settlement and not other way around – Award set aside, matter remitted back to PLA (PUS).
