FATEH DEEP SINGH, J. (ORAL) –
1. The matter has been taken up through video-conferencing on account of outbreak of pandemic COVID-19.
2. Petitioners Nirmal Kumar and Vikram Gupta had initiated before the Court of learned Rent Controller, Chandigarh an application under Section 13 of the East Punjab Urban Rent Restriction Act, 1949 (hereinafter to be referred as 'the Act') seeking eviction of the respondents/tenants from the demised premises.

As has been contended before the Court at the bar by Shri Amar Vivek Aggarwal, learned counsel for the petitioner that entire evidence of both the sides has since been completed on 28.02.2019 and, thereafter, the matter is not being disposed off and, thus, defeating the very rights of the petitioners to speedy disposal of the matter and dispensation of justice.
4. Be so as it may, in the light of what has been stated at the bar by the counsel for the petitioners, this Court deems it appropriate to issue directions to the Court of learned Rent Controller Chandigarh that Rent Petition No. 215 of 2016 titled as Nirmal Kumar and another Vs. Narinder Mohan Mittal and others be disposed off expeditiously preferably within a period of one month from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
5. The petition is as such disposed off.
