RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J. (ORAL) –
1. Petitioners have approached this Court for issuance of direction to respondent No.1 to decide the pending Case No.32 of 2016 titled as “Aflatoon and others Vs. The Joint Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Haryana, Chandigarh & others” pending for 09.08.2023 before respondent No.1, within a specific time.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the cases are pending before the learned Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner, Revenue (Haryana) since 2016. He submits that the arguments have also been heard and the State has chosen not to file any reply in the said case. He further submits that the pendency before the Authority from last about 07 years is itself sufficient to draw a conclusion that the cases are pending adjudication for sufficient long time.
3. Notice of motion.
4. On asking of the Court, Mr. Rajneesh Chadwal, AAG, Haryana accepts notice on behalf of respondents-State.
5. After hearing counsel for the parties and perusing the record, respondent No.1 is directed to expedite the hearing of the said case and conclude the same expeditiously preferably within a period of six months from today.
6. In view of the above, present petition is disposed of.
Order accordingly.
