Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887 (XVII of 1887), Section 34 – Constitution of India, Article 226, 227 -- Mutation entry – Pendency of application – Writ against -- Petitioner moved application for entering a mutation in revenue record, which application was duly received by the respondents vide File No.824 dated 25.10.2018 but the prayer in this application is not being processed -- Writ petition disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to decide the application within a period of eight weeks.

1. Learned counsel for the petitioner argues that the petitioner had moved application dated 17.10.2018 (Annexure P-6) for entering a mutation in revenue record, which application was duly received by the respondents vide File No.824 dated 25.10.2018 but the prayer in this application is not being processed even as of now and that too without any valid justification. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the application was for sanctioning of mutation in favour of the petitioner with regard to the land for which the petitioner had already paid all the due amounts as far back as in year 1978 and the litigation, which have been initiated in respect of the said land, has been decided in his favour throughout, hence, keeping in view the said fact, the respondents are liable to be directed to enter the correct mutation as being requested for.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner will be satisfied at this stage, in case appropriate direction is issued to respondent No.3 to decide the application dated 17.10.2018 (Annexure P-6) in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order.

4. On asking of the Court, Mr. Navdeep Chhabra, learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who is present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
5. Learned counsel for the respondents raises no objection in deciding the application dated 17.10.2018 (Annexure P-6) in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order.

Without commenting upon the merits of the case or about the entitlement of the petitioner for the relief which has been claimed by him in the application dated 17.10.2018 (Annexure P-6), the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to decide the application dated 17.10.2018 (Annexure P-6) within a period of eight weeks from the receipt of copy of this order.
