Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961 (18 of 1961), Section 13-B – Constitution of India, Article 226, 227 -- Writ of mandamus – Executive revision petition pending before Commissioner since 6.11.2020 – Direction given to Commissioner to make an effort to decide the revision petition on fixed date and in any case, to conclude the said proceedings by deciding it within a further period of three weeks thereof, if it is not possible to conclude on fixed date.

1. Petitioners have approached this Court praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the Commissioner Ambala Division, Ambala-respondent No.2 to decide the executive revision preferred by the petitioners challenging the order dated 15.09.2020 passed by the District Collector, Ambala disposing of the appeal under Section 13-B of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961. The said revision petition has been preferred by the petitioners on 06.11.2020 (Annexure P-4), which is pending before the said authority for 24.02.2021.
2. In the light of the prayer made in the writ petition and without going into the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of by directing the Commissioner Ambala Division, Ambala-respondent No.2, to make an effort to decide the revision petition on 24.02.2021, the date said to be fixed in the executive revision dated 06.11.2020 (Annexure P-4) and in any case, to conclude the said proceedings by deciding it within a further period of three weeks thereof, if it is not possible to conclude on 24.02.2021.
Order accordingly.
