Void-abinitio -- Hon'ble Supreme Court in Independent Thought's case, has given a suggestion to the Government of India and the State Governments to follow the decision of the State of Karnataka, which had declared child marriage as void ab initio through an amendment – This suggestion of the Hon'ble Supreme Court was given in the year 2017, but the same is yet to attract the attention of the States of Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory Administration, Chandigarh, therefore, court feels it necessary to remind the States to consider this important issue to eradicate menace of child marriage.
