Deceased was a final year student of Mechanical Engineering and was a brilliant student – Salary of deceased assessed as Rs.10000/- p.m. -- 50% added as future prospects amounts to Rs.10000+Rs.5000=Rs.15000/- p.m. – ½ (Rs.15000-Rs.7500=Rs.7500 p.m.) deducted as personal expenses of the deceased -- Compensation after multiplier of 18 is applied i.e. Rs.7500 X 12 X 18= Rs.16,20,000/- -- Rs.1,00,000/- (Rs.50,000/- each) awarded as compensation for loss of love and affection to parents -- Rs.25,000/- as Funeral charges -- Total Compensation awarded Rs. 17,45,000/- -- Enhanced amount of compensation Rs.17,45,000-Rs.4,21,000=Rs.13,24,000/- -- Enhanced amount shall be payable within a period of forty five days and shall carry interest @ 9% per annum from the date of filing of the claim petition, till its realization.
