Compensation in motor vehicle accident -- Deceased was unmarried boy aged 21 years, a Constable with Punjab Police – Claim petition by parents and the minor sister – Salary Rs.2,300/- p.m., addition of 50% had to be made towards future prospects and the total income would come to Rs.3450/- -- Deceased was a bachelor, 50% deduction has to be made -- Annual contribution would come to Rs.20,700/- and applying the multiplier of 11, considering the age of the parents, the compensation would come to Rs.2,27,700/- -- A sum of Rs.5,000/- as funeral expenses and a sum of Rs.10,000/- is added as loss of estate; raising the total to be Rs.2,42,700/-.
